Interestingly, insulin and HOMA-IR, a calculated measure of insulin resistance, did not significantly improve across the entire dataset [3].
That distinction matters. Garlic appears capable of supporting glucose regulation, but the evidence does not show that it simply “fixes insulin resistance” in everyone.
The researchers also found a nonlinear dose-response relationship. In some analyses, lower doses of 0.5 grams per day or less were associated with greater reductions in fasting glucose and insulin [3].
That finding challenges the common assumption that more of a botanical automatically produces better results. It also reinforces the value of using a consistent, standardized formulation such as Healthmasters’ Garlic rather than treating all garlic preparations as interchangeable.
