Increasing Leftist, Corporate, and Parental Support for the Hypersexualization of Children
The drag queen Lil Miss Hot Mess came out, wearing a white sequined tunic dress and matching heels, bright-pink tights, and a curly auburn wig. She [he] put on black owlish reading glasses, sat on a folding chair, and addressed her audience: “Can everyone say, ‘When I grow up, I want to be a drag queen’?”
The children just stared.
She [he] would then begin reading from “Tatterhood,” a collection of feminist folktales, which had been published by the Feminist Press, in the nineteen-seventies.

Across the United States, a new fad has arisen. Public institutions, such as city halls and public libraries, are hosting Drag Queen Story Time (DQST), with support and approval from corporate America. Regardless of one's sexual orientation, this should strike concern. However, if parents are concerned that children are becoming increasingly sexualized and that pedophilia is gradually becoming accepted, radical leftists say that is not the case, and these events are merely supporting diversity.
However, during the last several decades, progressive Democrats have become increasingly polarized, more so than Republicans, according to Pew research published in 2017 [2] [3], and this can be exemplified by merely reviewing historical democratic policies throughout the last several years:
- 2015: There are hundreds of genders; if you don’t support, you are intolerant
- 2018: Transgenderism should be promoted and normalized; if you don’t support, you are intolerant
- 2019: Pedophilia should be encouraged and normalized; if you don’t support, you are intolerant
This "constant pushing of the bar" seems to be one of the main dilemmas with the radical left: you can never satisfy them. They will always want a little more, and if you disagree and communicate dissent, you are intolerant.
Therefore, it is only a matter of time before far-leftist individuals begin to advocate for legalized and promoted polygamy, incest, and bestiality, and if you disagree or express concern, you are intolerant.
Children Need to Maintain Their Innocence
Young children should not be expressed to hypersexualized individuals, regardless of the intent.
According to Drag Queen Story Hour’s website, “Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like – drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores… DQSH captures the imagination and play of gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real” [4].
There are numerous issues with these statements.
First, gender fluidity, until recently, was accepted as the psychiatric condition gender dysphoria disorder, which is defined as “conflict between a person's physical or assigned gender and the gender with which he/she/they identify” [5]. This type of disorder is no different than a person thinking they are an animal, which is a large part of the LGBTQ+ society [6]. There is a sort of deep-rooted psychiatric distress occurring, and the next point exemplifies this.
Second, drag queens should not be role models. These individuals, principally, may appear to be glamorous and positive, but that community is stifled with emotional and psychological distress.
According to Time, the U.S. Transgender Survey “found that transgender people are twice as likely to be living in poverty compared to the general population and three times more likely to be unemployed. Respondents reported higher than average rates of harassment, violence and psychological distress. One-third reported issues in seeking healthcare, while 30% said they had at some time been homeless. And 40% said they had attempted to commit suicide at some point in their lifetime, compared to 4.6% of the general population [emphasis added]” [6].
None of these characteristics make transgender people, or drag queens for that matter, admirable role models for kids.
While the far-left may be quick to believe these individuals are admirable role models, actual female, conservative role models, such as Tomi Lahren and Joy Villa, are isolated by the left because their beliefs go against third-wave feminism.
Finally, dress up, by definition, is not real. It is pretend, and does not represent the trueness of reality in any way. The whole idea that people can be whatever they want it a lie that is intended to blur and erase the social line between normal and abnormal.
Parental Support
Astonishingly, many parents advocate for these types of events and allow their children to be exposed to this type of abnormality.
One attendee, Rachel Aimee, said DQSH was just the type of event she looks for as a mother.
“The thing that first struck me was it’s all about dressing up and being pretty without the baggage of gender coding. As a parent, I’ve been looking for something like that,” she stated.
Aimee said she has begun to question her feminist beliefs because her six-year-old daughter enjoys playing with Barbie.
“She got really into watching ‘Barbie: Life in the Dream House,’” Aimee complained. “How could I tell her not to watch it? It has a thousand girls and only, like, two boys in it. I would be teaching her that shows about girls are bad.”
DQSH’s creator, Michelle Tea, created the organization because her two-year-old son, Atticus, was too boyish.
“He is pretty butch – we call him Fratticus. I’m always pushing a tutu on him, but he’s, like, ‘No.’,” Tea complained.
Tea stated her solution was to create DQSH to fix this “problem.”
“I have long thought that drag queens need to be the performers at children’s parties, rather than magicians or clowns,” she claimed.
While these parents may claim they are open to their children exploring sexuality, they appear to be pushing their children in only one direction.
There are even more significant examples of extreme, leftist, feminist mothers pushing transgenderism on their child.
In late 2018, a Texas father, Jeff Younger, objected to his ex-wife pushing their six-year-old son, James Younger, into identifying as a girl, and as a result, the mother accused him of “abusive behavior.”
James had undergone social transitioning to be identified as a girl since the age of three. Jeff and the parents of some of James’ friends maintain that James desires to be a boy when he is not in the presence of his mother, who is responsible for enrolling the child into school as a girl and having the child undergo psychological assessments.
Further, the mother asked the court to force the father to pay for James to undergo trans-affirming therapy, any medical alterations, and any additional treatment James may need to transition to female as he gets older.
The courts agreed and required the father to pay at least fifty-percent of future gender-related medical expenses. The court has also banned Jeff from teaching James that he is a boy and prohibited the father from dressing his son as a boy.
These examples are not of parents teaching their children about acceptance and equality. They are examples of parents abusing their influence to force their children into gender fluidity.
Not All Parents Support This Idea
Several parents have expressed their concern for these types of events:
“I think it's pathetic that these gays, or whatever you want to call them, are going to be talking to young children, trying to expose them to this type of life. This is utterly pathetic and shouldn't even be allowed, and I've already called the Conway Library and expressed my grave concern for this kind of unnatural act being done to our children of today” [10].
“The primary purpose of this is to antagonize family values and traditional-minded people; and the fact that a grownup cannot attend without a child proves that there is subversive agenda to disturb children” [10].
“You might be wondering how we got to this place, where drag queens are deemed appropriate role models for our children. When we applaud such lifestyles as homosexuality, transgenderism and queer, this is just the next step in the in the decline of cultural boundaries, and this might be the end of the nonsense. Better vote for God and country in 2020” [10].
Whole Foods Endorsing DQSH
A “drag queen” in Georgia was invited to read at Atlanta’s City Hall after being invited by Atlanta’s mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms.
This invitation came after Steven Igarashi-Ball, who performs under the name Miss Terra Cotta Sugarbaker, had his DQSH session removed from the events calendar of a Fulton County Library. Several institutions, including the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Beverage Association, and Whole Foods, supported this event.
There is no doubt that Atlanta’s mayor is virtue signaling her support for transgenderism and pedophilia to appease the social justice, sexual deviants on the left.
Because of Whole Foods endorsement and financial support, when someone shops at whole foods, they are actively supporting this type of pedophilia, child exploitation, and indoctrination.
Drag Queens and Immoral Sexual Deviancy
It has also been uncovered some of these drag queens have been convicted as sex offenders.
Mass Resistance uncovered reports that one individual, William Travis Dees, has a rap sheet of heinous sex crimes that he committed against children as young as four, dating from 2004 [11].
Dees is a current member of “Space City Sisters,” a drag queen group, and has repeatedly volunteered as a greeter for young children at various QDSH events, among other roles that allowed him close access to underage children [11].
Facebook Under Scrutiny
In the never-ending array of Facebook-oriented drama, the New York Post reported that a Facebook survey asked users if they condone pedophilia, in March 2018.
The multiple-choice poll gave users the option to condone pedophiles should be allowed to solicit “sexual pictures” from underage children. One of the poll responses included “content should be allowed on Facebook, and I would not mind seeing it.”
This poll option sparked outrage. After blowback, Facebook removed the poll and stated it was a mistake and they would never allow this type of content.
However, Facebook sees no problems in censoring conservatives’ free speech.
Conclusion
As the left continues to become more militant and polarized, they will continue to push the bar normality in the name of acceptance, and if an individual disagrees with these stances and expresses dissent, they will be shammed and dubbed intolerant. Eventually, conservative and moderate voices will have to stand firm against this type of moral degradation and the hyper-sexualization of children.
